Creative Discovery Museum

One of the nation’s top children’s museums, the Creative Discovery Museum inspires children’s passion for learning through play. Whether creating a clay sculpture in the Artists' Studio, zooming a message through a pneumatic tube in Inventors' Clubhouse, digging for dinosaur bones in Excavation Station, or creating an ensemble cast of characters in the Back Alley Theatre, this museum is full of hands-on family fun. Children 4 years and younger can spend time exploring the infant garden of the Little Yellow House, while kids of all ages will enjoy RiverPlay's 2-1/2 story high climbing structure. Riverplay also offers an interactive watercourse to sail boats, learn about locks and dams, and shoot jets of water to make whirligigs spin!

Special exhibit January 17 - May 10: Human Plus: Real Lives + Real Engineering
Explore and create tools that extend the abilities of the human body! Ride a mono-ski in a simulated ski race, control a DJ station using the wheels of a wheelchair, “feel” the music with a special touch panel, and even discover how someone can control a neuroprosthetic limb with their thoughts! HUMAN PLUS was produced and is toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in partnership with the New York Hall of Science. The exhibit was made possible with funds provided by the National Science Foundation.
