While rich in history, from Civil War lore and railroads to MoonPies and whiskey, Chattanooga, Tennessee, has flown under the radar in recent decades as one of America’s hidden gems. In some cases, that sentiment is also quite literal, as the city lays claim to Ruby Falls, one of the world’s tallest and most striking underground waterfalls, buried 1,000-feet beneath the surface of Lookout Mountain.
