Art Car Parade

Dates: 4/28/2018, 4/29/2018, 4/30/2018

Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation, art cars will once again roam the streets of Chattanooga during our Scenic City Art Car Weekend. Our primary focus is to reach sixteen of the 35 schools that do not have an art program. While they are here, we are planning a weekend of festivities similar to last year. This includes the art car parade, the art car ball, and an award ceremony that recognizes schools for their entries.

4/27 - ArtCarAVan to schools, across Hamilton County 9am-2pm
Expect Chattanooga’s most enjoyable commute as art cars take the streets, heading to schools for an amazing day with the artists. It’s not too late to help get an art car to your school too. Details at:

4/28 - Tailgate Party & Art Car Cruise-in on Station Street  9am-3pm
One of the best events in Chattanooga is happening on Station Street Saturday, April 28th from 9am-3pm. Enjoy artists, art cars, costumes, face painting, bubbles galore, and vote for which school will take home the coveted Golden Gnome Award and $500 courtesy of Rock City.

4/28 - The Howard Art Car Fashion Ball 7:00pm-10pm in the Chattanooga Choo-Choo Gardens
Mingle among the glow of the art cars and gowns re-imagined/engineered by students from The Howard School Art Department and VWeLAb. Makeup and hair done exclusively by the talented members of The Howard School Cosmetology Department. Music, food, and fun!

This event is a part of Artburst: a city-wide explosion of color in April. For a full list of Artburst events, visit
