Chickamauga Battlefield Bike Tour

Dates: May 19, 2018 - October 20, 2018
Recurrence: Recurring monthly on the 3rd Saturday

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and Outdoor Chattanooga will join forces once again this year to offer a series of free, monthly historical bike tours through Chickamauga Battlefield.

The public is invited to bring their bicycles (recumbent or handcycles are also appropriate) and join in the leisurely-paced historical rides, which takes approximately two hours. National Park Service rangers will talk about the history of the battlefield while Outdoor Chattanooga staff and volunteers provide ride leadership and support.

Loaner bicycles from the Outdoor Chattanooga Mobile Bicycle Fleet will be available for riders five feet tall and over at no charge, thanks to sponsorship from the Friends of the Park and the Chattanooga Bicycle Club. Reservations for these bicycles are required, contact the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center at (706) 866-9241.

The monthly tours begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center. Ride length is approximately three to four leisurely miles on flat to moderately-hilly terrain. The rides are appropriate for adults and children ages eight and older when accompanied by an adult. No training wheels please. All participants are required to wear helmets.

Free program is supported by the Friends of the Park and the Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga.

Additional Saturday battlefield bicycle tours are scheduled the 3rd Saturday monthly May through October for 2018.
