Journey back in time to the 1800's when life was much simpler; or was it? See for yourself what it was like for our ancestors as they carved out an existence in the wilderness. Experience the sights, the sounds, the smells, and the work that made up their everyday life. See demonstrations of such skills as Dutch-oven cooking, wood tools, rope-making, and spinning, as well as blacksmithing, candle making, and much more! Don't forget to visit historic Spring Frog Cabin, which is open each year.
Walker Farm Pioneer Days is a hands-on, living history event geared for elementary aged students and families. Visitors move through as many as 20 different historical demonstrations which showcase a period skill or job. Many school and home school groups attend on the weekdays so reservations are required for groups. Individuals and families wishing to attend are encouraged to come on Saturday, which is less busy.
